Birds Eye Deli New Zealand Whiting Burgers

MasterChef’s Khanh Ong in collaboration with Birds Eye brings you this crispy light battered Deli Whiting fish burger with home-made tartare.

Ingredients

  • 250g packet frozen Birds Eye Deli Whiting – Crisp Light Batter
  • 5 x soft round rolls, try wholemeal or multigrain for a healthier option
  • ½ cup Kewpie mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped pickle
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped capers
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 5 slices cucumber
  • 5 lettuce leaves

Method

STEP 1
Cook frozen Birds Eye Whiting following packet directions.
STEP 2
Slice rolls in half and microwave for 25 seconds to warm up and soften.
STEP 3
In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, pickles, capers and lemon juice. Season to taste.
STEP 4
Top each roll with a lettuce leaf, piece of whiting (you may need to cut fish depending on the size of your roll) and then top with a tablespoon of tartare. Top with cucumber then finish with the roll lid.
