Birds Eye supporting Thankful4Farmers’ new app, Saveful

Birds Eye is partnering with Thankful4Farmers and getting behind their Saveful app to empower Australians to save time and money and reduce food waste.

Launching in November, the innovative and free app, Saveful, gives users the ability to save up to $3,000 each year through a range of unique, intuitive tools and features.

Saveful will deliver a personalised user experience based on a family’s needs and tastes, as well as the ability to build sustainable home cooking habits simply and conveniently. Saveful will also give households the ability to instantly see the impact of their actions by tracking food and money saved.

“We are thrilled to have Birds Eye on board as one of our founding brand partners,” says Saveful CEO, Kim McDonnell. “Birds Eye is leading a powerful group of brands, producers, retailers and governments embracing Saveful’s ability to practically and conveniently reduce food waste in Australian homes.”

“Drawn to the app’s unique ability to empower, encourage and reward users to save with simple and easy actions at home, Saveful is serving up the practical tools and tangible solutions that both Australian brands and consumers are craving.”

“We look forward to working with Birds Eye and empowering Australian households through Saveful’s motivating, positive and fun platform.”

“Founding partners, like Birds Eye, are not only leading the way by helping make mealtimes easier, they are also easing cost of living pressures being felt by many households and helping us deliver this app to consumers for free.”

“Whether it be cooking chef quality meals with what’s on hand or giving last night’s leftover a makeover, we are about diverting food away from the waste bin, stopping endless trips to the supermarket and making Australian tastebuds (and wallets) sing,” says McDonnell.

As part of the collaboration, Birds Eye will work alongside Saveful in highlighting how Australians can get the most out of their frozen food, guiding them along the food journey from planning, shopping for food and preparing meals.

“Birds Eye is more than just a box in your freezer,” says Senior Director of Marketing APAC, Katie Saunders. “With a strong heritage and respect for resources, the brand’s portfolio includes frozen seafood, potatoes, vegetables and plant-based products.”

“At Birds Eye we have an eye for good that’s part of everything we do. We have a strong focus on sustainability and take pride from seed to plate. So, when we saw the opportunity to partner with Saveful to help Australians get more out of their food, we knew it was the right fit. People have a great opportunity to reduce food waste by incorporating more frozen foods into their meals. Simply pull it out of the freezer, take the right portion and pop the rest right back.”

Saveful has been developed by Australian-based social enterprise Thankful, and has secured support from venture-studio Shadowboxer as well as chef, restaurateur, and farmer Matt Moran as an Ambassador.
