Vitamin B2 works with other vitamins in the B–group to release energy from carbohydrate. It is also used for growth, vision, to make red blood cells and to maintain healthy skin. Men require 1.7 milligrams of vitamin B2 each day, and women 1.2 milligrams.
Foods that are good sources of vitamin B2 include dairy products, wholemeal breads and cereals, eggs, liver, almonds and mushrooms.
