Vitamin B1 - Thiamin

Vitamin B1 helps convert carbohydrate into energy. It also helps the nervous system, heart and muscles to function properly. Men require 1.1 mg of vitamin B1 each day, and women 0.8 milligrams.

Good sources of vitamin B1 include wholemeal bread and cereals, wheat germ and rye, beans, nuts, kidney, liver and yeast extract.
